Update on NCADC services

For the last few weeks, NCADC has been operating with just one worker and two volunteers since Ariel, our Campaigns Coordinator based in Brighton left to work overseas. This has coincided with most of our volunteers also moving on to work or further studies, so we’re concentrating on priority services at the moment.

News emails
As a result of this reduction in capacity, our news service – of daily and weekly information emails – has had to be reduced to allow us to concentrate on providing advice, information and support to individuals and groups campaigning against deportations. Many thanks to volunteer Roberto, who was holding together the news service, and to Liam who continues to provide campaigns support.

Campaign alerts
Support to people seeking help on campaigning against removal remains our priority. We have had some intense work with a few campaigns, and have issued several alerts in recent weeks. An update with news of these campaigns – including some successes – will be issued as soon as we can. Special thanks to Paul and to Puck who have provided guidance in recent weeks. Also to all of you who contacted Air France recently, and to the flight crew of the three flights who refused to take deportees.

Recruitment
We are happy to announce that a new worker to be based in London has been recruited, and will commence work one month from now. More details on that soon. We have also begun an induction and training programme for a new team of volunteers who will assist with campaign support and the information service. The email newsletters and online information will be back to full strength soon.

Contacting NCADC
Until the new worker is in post, you can email ncadc@ncadc.org.uk, or phone 0141 334 1333. If you can’t get through on the phone, please leave a message and include your phone number. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Thank you for your patience and for your support. I’d also like to thank the supporters who have made donations via our website and by taking out bank standing orders recently, and to our long-standing regular donors – this financial support is vital for our work and encourages the large funding bodies to provide grant funding.

Best wishes,

Michael Collins
Campaigns Coordinator
